SHT wins the Volkswagen tender “Logistics Innovations 2015” award of “Nominated Supplier”

At the invitation of Volkswagen AG and the Institute for Production Management (IPM) innovative logistics service providers to the automotive industry presented their solutions in the Wolfsburg Volkswagen Arena at the “INNOVATIVE LOGISTICS Solution Day, 2015”  on January 28, 2015.

Volkswagen AG selected the “top ten” solutions for future strategies in production logistics from more than 200 applicants.

The winning ten “Nominated Suppliers” included SHT GmbH, Wörth an der Isar, and the CargoBeamer AG, Leipzig.
Their jointly-developed system solution enables continuous automated, environmentally friendly material supply from a supplier to the production line.

The two companies collaborated on the CargoBeamer rail transportation equipment, automatic loading and unloading modules for VW containers, and the SHT “tugger”.

The results speak for themselves: In addition to optimizing punctuality – important for “just in time” and “just in sequence” supply of production lines – comes from the innovative system solution for inbound logistics without forklifts and manual “handling” of the material container and lowers energy demand, emissions and production costs per transport to new record lows.
